Heaters Back On

It's getting cold again! On Friday 9th October we turned the heaters back on! We tried to last as long as we could before turning them on. They are great heaters and warm up the whole house so well and the timer system is fantastic. We are still having some nice days though and the sun is still shining - it's just colder and most of the time we go out now we have to take our coats. We think we have had a pretty good year with the weather really. It helped that we were in France for 2 weeks over summer so we got some real heat and missed some of the July rain they had here. I do think we came at a great time of the year though because it has broken the winter up. We had half a winter here when we arrived, then spring, summer and autumn and we will leave a month or so into winter again! So it's been good - not sure what a full winter here would be like though! Oh.... and I'm very sad that my french tan has just about gone! :-(

You're lucky you missed the winter here. VERY long and VERY wet! Only two cold months for you to endure then back to summer! :)
Have you worked out any special plans for Christmas??

Sorry to rub it in but the last two days have been 25 degrees and seeing as it has been a long weekend we have spent it outside working in the garden which has gotten away from us while we were in Queensland where it was 33 degrees most days.....
Sorry!!!! had to rub it in...

Charlotte must sense that it isn't long until you return because she has been "Lani this" and "Lani that" constantly the last couple of days.
It will be interesting to see how they are together when it finally happens!

yes well...I turned the heat on a few weeks ago (I didnt really try to last though - I just got cold and turned them on) then about 4 days later I turned them off because it got a little warm again. Now it's pretty warm so they are still off so it's rather nice.

Hi nan here, I am sitting here with Gail and we have just logged me on for the first time.
Glad that the heaters are working. Yesterday Gail changed the heaters to air conditioners, and today we changed them back again because it is freezing!!! Typical Spring Tassie weather. Brighton looks like good fun, although sitting on pebbles isn't our idea of fun.

we had those English heaters in The Falklands. I loved them too. Used to dry my clothes on them ALL the time, we and them in every room!

Hi,
Yes, reversing the trend down under, we got sunburnt at the Deloraine Craft Fair on Saturday. We turned off the heat pumps too.
Brighton looks like it was a fun day, even though you needed to rug up. Piers, fairs and shows remind us all of the child in us.

Because everyday is different and we can't remember them all, I thought I had better start writing them down. Welcome to life in the Challis home - where everyday is different!
