This Is Paris

Wednesday 29th July we packed up and moved from one side of Paris to the other. We were staying with the same hotel group so they let us store our bags with them in their offices just off the Champs Elysees, so it wasn't too much of a hassle. We then walked up the Champs Elysees and checked it out, in a more 'normal setting!' It looked quite different from Sunday - as you would expect!

It was hard to believe they had this all barricaded off just a few days ago! Where did all the traffic go!? This next photo is about where we were standing on Sunday.

{Arc de Triomphe}

It seems you can pretty much walk up anything if you want to, looking back now, I really just can't believe how big all these buildings are. If you look closely you can see all the people at the top of the Arc - It truly is a remarkable city with some eye catching sights!

The one shop Mickey wanted to go in on the Champs Elysees was The Nike Shop, which looked more like a Lance Armstrong Shop! I thought this picture was funny of the girl taking a picture of the guy in front of the shop and then you can also see they have a couple of spectators watching them! (not just us!). Mick got himself a very cool t-shirt and cap (you will see it later on) and a Lance Armstrong wrist band - which he hasn't hardly taken off - as I type I look over and yes, he's still wearing it!

We then went on an open top tour bus which was brilliant - and a sure way of seeing all of the most popular attractions. It was quite expensive, but the ticket lasts 24 hours so you can jump on and jump off over that time. It is a good way to get around too.

{Emily says "Look there's Paris!"}

{Emily making sure she is not missing any of the commentary!}

{Notre Dame}

We hopped off the bus at the Lafayette shopping centre and had a bit of a look around. It was huge, and well designed - it was nice to just be in there. We then got back on the bus and finished off the guided tour.

{Lafayette's many floors of shopping}

{I wasn't the only one excited to be here!}

{It was nice to recognise some names and faces on the front of the National Music Museum!}

After our bus tour we went and checked out our new apartment and rested up! On the way we passed this dude...

Because everyday is different and we can't remember them all, I thought I had better start writing them down. Welcome to life in the Challis home - where everyday is different!
