Arriving in Denver

Our Southwest flight to Denver was quite interesting. It was a very 'relaxed' flight and the attendants are not quite what we are used to. At first I thought it was just an everyday traveller standing in the aisle next to me when I realise it was actually the flight attendant. They were in a uniform, but it was  a pretty casual looking one and they didn't have there hair tied back and no high heels or makeup were worn! It looked like pretty much anyone could get a flight attendant job. Not complaining, it just seemed different. They would speak through the microphone like they were talking to you on the street, and they didn't do much of a safety demo either. Actually, the funniest thing happened... they were about to drop the fake oxygen mask for the demo when all of a sudden the plane just took off at high speed ready to take off and the 3 flight attendants had to run back to their seats... everyone was laughing and they only just buckled up in time!! I had never seen that before!
Anyway, we were all very happy to finally touch down in Denver as we knew that there was no more flying for a few more days. Denver Airport was really nice and the kids enjoyed catching the high speed train to baggage collection! We picked up our bags and caught a shuttle bus our rental car. I couldn't believe the amount of rent a car places there were. They went on for miles. The drive to Colorado Springs was about an hour and a half and really pretty - a lot of the trees still had Christmas lights on them and it looked beautiful.

It wasn't really cold, which we were quite surprised as we didn't get to Laura and Marks until about 11.00pm. We were very excited to finally meet Kobe and see Mark and Laura again... but not for long as we were SO tired we just had to go to bed, so a quick cuddle of Kobe it was.

We didn't wake up until 10am the next day - which turned out to be the pattern for just about every morning in Colorado. Our body clocks were a bit messed up, but more then anything, Mick and I were just so tired from not getting much/any sleep on the plane. We're just glad we could sleep in and try and catch up a bit. (The girls often woke up after us.... which is usually a never!)
We were very excited to spend some time with baby Kobe. He is such a good baby and so beautiful. He loved the girls playing with him and they thought they were very important getting to help look after him... pushing him in his swing and talking to him. He was so calm and would sit back and take us all in. Laura is a good Mummy and it shows by how easy going and relaxed Kobe is. He is 10 weeks old now and such a cute little baby. (As Laura is always telling us!!!) He is just starting to play with dangly toys and gives big kicks in excitement, big smiles and babbles a little.

Those pics are so cute! Kobe really is cute!! I know what you mean about the flight attendants.. we were like that when we went.. they were scruffy! I didn't like it at all! haha

Because everyday is different and we can't remember them all, I thought I had better start writing them down. Welcome to life in the Challis home - where everyday is different!
