Our Christmas Day

Christmas is so exciting! We woke up about 7am to Lani bringing her stocking in with a very amazed look on her face "Santa came and put things in my stocking, and left it on my bed!' She ran into Emily and helped her out of bed and helped her carried her stocking out to the lounge room, telling her that Santa had been! Watching the excitement on their faces is just priceless. We checked out what Santa & the reindeer ate and read a little note he left.  During the present opening it was great to hear lots of "oh that's exactly what I wanted!!!"  Lani was excited about everything - even her new undies!! Emily was pretty excited too but got over the present opening after the first few and just wanted to play with what she had! After opening all of the presents we got ready and headed over to Grandmas and Grandads for breakfast and more present opening.

Everyone was given so many great presents and so much thought was put into each one. We are so grateful. I really enjoy giving... (and getting) and I was very excited to give Mum & Dad an album I have been working on for quite some time. I should have taken a photo but I couldn't be bothered!!

We had lunch at Aunty Cathy and Uncle Shanes and it was delicious! Baked potatoes, pink eyes, turkey, ham, chicken, peas, carrots, cauliflower, pumpkin, parsnip and all the condiments to go with it! We finished with Christmas pudding, fresh raspberries, cream, ice cream and custard!! mmmmmm!!!!! And I think the company was even better - uncles, aunties, cousins, parents, grandparents, spouses and siblings.

After full tummy's we headed home for a few hours of rest before we headed off to Lisa and Stans house for an even bigger gathering of more family. Tea was our usual left over meats, salads and fresh bread - a great was to finish the day! Oh and dessert..... but lets not start naming them! The kids got to open one last present for the day and the excitement was wild!!

We had a wonderful Christmas filled with lots of Joy. I'm really thankful that Jesus came to  the earth to show us how we should live and treat others. I'm thankful that he atoned for our sins and died on the cross so that we can be resurrected and live for eternity in peace with our family and friends - the best gift of all.

Because everyday is different and we can't remember them all, I thought I had better start writing them down. Welcome to life in the Challis home - where everyday is different!
