Melbourne Airport

We got up early and headed down to Mc Donalds for breakfast, there were people everywhere and it started to make us a little nervous.

While I ordered Mick took the girls for a ride on Thomas, they were very excited!

We headed back to the hotel to brush our teeth, get our bags and check out.

We headed to the international terminal and got in line with our 2 trolleys of bags just in time, as 2 minutes after we got there the line started to fill up rather quickly. The girls entertained themselves by walking around and under the queue markers. Check out Emily with Lamby on her head!!!

We checked our bags in and headed to customs... which turned out to be the most exhausting part of the day. It was really hot in there and the kids were starting to get a bit over lining up. As we joined the line Mick said "You usually have to fill out those green forms" and I was like "don't worry about it - the check-in lady didn't give me any so maybe you don't have to anymore" (there is this new online form you have to fill out to enter the US now, which we did). Bad mistake that was - we finally got to the end of the line, after seeing 2 of the 'Neighbours' stars only to be told we need to go back and fill out the green forms!! We couldn't believe it - well Mick could, but I couldn't as I had been watching some other people check-in and some of them had been given green forms and told to fill them out - so why the hell weren't we given any? Stupid lady. Anyway.... the nice customs lady said we could come back to her when we had filled them out. So thankfully we didn't have to line up again - because that would have been bad!! Once we got through, Mick went over to the TRS to get our GST back from our new camera while I took the girls though security.
Unfortunately this was the last time we saw our much loved lamby... while we were waiting for Mick I realised he was missing. We had a look around and asked at the security check point but I think he got left on the other side of customs. We were all a bit sad, but the girls seemed to understand when I told them he was lost.

We will miss you Lamby!

We found our gate and finally got to sit down. We had about a 45 minute wait until our plane to Auckland boarded.

That's so sad that you lost lamby. That's the trouble with giving things to kids they just put them down and forget about them -until they want them again.
This is Debbie by the way.

Good to see you still have time to blog. I wonder where Lamby is living now.

Oh no! I bet you got that horrible feeling in your stomach about Lamby being lost. I always worry about Maddi loosing her favourite toy. Maybe over in England you'll be able to find an identical replacement.

Sad about the lamby. Maybe you can replace it when you get there.

Because everyday is different and we can't remember them all, I thought I had better start writing them down. Welcome to life in the Challis home - where everyday is different!
