Boxing Day

Boxing Day is Mum's birthday, it always has been and I guess it always will be! It means that you have to get her present ready and organised before Christmas, and if you forget you are stuffed cause nothing is ever opened!! Although it can be very handy when you get given something for Christmas that you don't want... you just wrap it up and give it to Mum the next day!!! (just kidding Mum!) Mum never asks for much, either does Dad actually, but she has always had some very strict rules about her birthday presents. You are never, and I mean never allowed to put her birthday presents under the Christmas tree and you are never, never allowed to wrap them in Christmas paper, and boy does she get upset if you do!!!
Anyway... so Mick had to work on boxing day this year so I was at home with the girls trying to create some sort of order for all their new things when we decided to ring Grandma for her birthday. We asked her to come and visit us so that the girls could show her all of their Christmas presents that she hadn't seen yet. She came around right when we were lining all the toys up for the annual after Christmas photo shoot!  It was nice to be home on Boxing day this year and watch the kids play with all their new things as we are usually out and about on a family trip somewhere.... but were all staying home this year because of our big Stanley trip.
So this is very very belated, but Happy Birthday Mum, don't think we will be visiting you for your next one!!

Because everyday is different and we can't remember them all, I thought I had better start writing them down. Welcome to life in the Challis home - where everyday is different!
